paths to God?"

It
seems all the voices around us today are saying one thing when it
comes to seeking God or pursuing spirituality: "Have an open mind
because there are many paths to the top of the mountain." As a result,
Christians are often painted as bigoted, narrow minded and even
immoral by popular culture. In fact, in many circles "having an
open mind" has become the ultimate pinnacle of all virtues.
But Orthodox Christianity tells us of something much more liberating
than any ancient or modern philosophy ever could. In a sense, Orthodox
Christianity tells us if God is really God, then He must sit atop
a mountain so infinitely high and steep that it is entirely unscaleable
by man - that there are no paths to the top of the mountain at all.
If this is the case and man can not reach God, then one question
remains: Can God reach man? |
